What we're building
We're starting with the mandates in Belgium, Germany, and France that turn a simple invoice into a structured, transmitted document. Our first product is a Shopify app being built to handle it per order, inside the checkout you already use. Belgium's mandate is already in force — since January 2026 — which is why it's our first market; it applies to every B2B invoice from here on, not a single deadline, so we're building for the long run: targeting a Q4 2026 launch, with Germany and France following on their own mandate timelines.
Why we're building this
I started Kelstad because the official guidance on these mandates is scattered across government PDFs in three languages, and most Shopify merchants are left guessing whether they're even affected — let alone what to do about it. The rules are already landing: Belgium is live now, with Germany and France phasing in on their own schedules.
So I set one rule for the site: nothing is published without a link to the official source it comes from — Belgium's Peppol BIS, Germany's XRechnung and ZUGFeRD, France's Factur-X via an approved platform, each written up in plain language. If we can't cite it, we don't publish it. The app itself is being built to turn each Shopify order into a compliant invoice — in the required format, sent the way each country's mandate requires.
Kelstad is founder-run. I'd rather earn your trust with precision than borrow it with claims I can't back — so my name is on the Impressum, and when you write in, you reach me.
If that's the kind of vendor you want on this, you can join as a founding member now — it's free, it locks the founding price, and we'll tell you the moment it's live.
